Helpful information

How target-size compression works

JPG and WebP are encoded repeatedly with an adaptive quality search. PixEasy keeps the best practical result at or below the target, and can reduce dimensions proportionally when quality changes alone are not enough.

Quality and dimensions

Lower quality can reduce photographic detail without changing pixel dimensions. Dimension reduction removes pixels but can achieve much smaller files while preserving the original aspect ratio.

PNG and transparency

PNG uses lossless compression and can preserve transparency, so its size may not fall as much as JPG or WebP. Format conversion is optional and never happens without your selection.

Why smartphone photos are large

Modern phones capture many megapixels and retain substantial color and detail. That is useful for editing and printing, but often more data than an online form, email, or profile image needs.

Private browser processing

The source image is decoded and compressed locally in your browser. It is not uploaded, stored, or sent to an external image-processing service.

PixEasy compresses photos and images toward a target file size entirely in your browser. Adaptive quality search is used for JPG and WebP, while PNG remains lossless and keeps transparency by default. If a very small target cannot be reached at the original dimensions, optional proportional resizing can reduce the pixel dimensions. Your file is never uploaded, stored, or sent to an image-processing service.
