Tolerance and edge softness
Tolerance includes colors farther from the selected background. Edge softness gradually reduces alpha near the boundary for a less jagged result.
Protecting colors inside the subject
Keep the edge-connected option on when the background reaches the image edges. Matching colors enclosed inside the subject will usually remain opaque.
